Day Training vs Board & Train: Why We Recommend Day Training

Board & train sounds convenient: send your dog away and they come back “trained,” right?
In reality, the most important part of training is you. That’s why we favor day training for most families.

Quick Comparison

Day Training (Our Recommendation):

  • ✅ Your dog sleeps at home with you every night

  • ✅ You’re involved in the process from day one

  • ✅ Regular owner coaching so you know what to do

  • ✅ Easier for your dog to generalize skills to home life

  • ✅ Lower stress for sensitive, shy, or rescue dogs

  • ✅ Flexible program lengths and schedules

Traditional Board & Train:

  • 🚫 Your dog is away from home for weeks

  • 🚫 You only see the “finished product,” not the process

  • 🚫 Dogs may listen to the trainer but struggle at home

  • 🚫 Can be stressful for dogs who are anxious or attached

  • 🚫 Less opportunity for you to practice with real-time feedback

We believe the best training teaches both the dog and the human. Day training lets us do the heavy lifting while still empowering you to keep the progress going at home.
