Service Description
This introductory scent work program is designed to build strong, confident sniffing skills using food only during the first six weeks. Our focus is on teaching dogs how to search before introducing any formal target odors. Dogs will learn: • How to use their nose intentionally and independently • To search calmly and methodically rather than frantically • Confidence working through simple puzzles and environments • How to problem-solve using scent instead of sight or speed We prioritize low pressure, high success setups that encourage curiosity, focus, and emotional regulation. This makes scent work accessible for puppies, shy dogs, over-aroused dogs, and those needing confidence-building enrichment. What we work on: • Food pairing and search motivation • Box and container searches • Environmental and surface changes • Handling skills for the human end of the leash • Reading your dog’s body language while searching Why food first? Using food allows dogs to: • Build a clear understanding of the game • Develop strong hunt behavior without stress • Learn persistence and independence • Create a solid foundation before adding complexity Target odors are introduced after this foundation phase, once dogs clearly understand the search process and show confident, consistent engagement. This program is ideal for dogs who: • Need mental enrichment • Are easily overstimulated • Benefit from confidence-building activities • Are new to any kind of nose work No prior experience required.

Cancellation Policy
Program Details: This package includes two (2) weeks of training, Monday through Friday, with two-hour sessions each day. Training focuses on foundational obedience, manners, and communication skills between you and your puppy. Scheduling: Clients may select a start date within one (1) month of payment. Once scheduled, the two-week program must be completed as arranged. Rescheduling is allowed one time within that same one-month period, based on trainer availability. Payment & Refunds: Full payment is required to reserve your spot. Payments are non-refundable, except in cases of trainer cancellation or emergencies preventing completion of the program. Refunds will not be issued for missed or unused sessions. Attendance & Cancellations: Regular attendance is essential for progress. Cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice; otherwise, the session will be forfeited. If the trainer must cancel due to weather or illness, a make-up session will be arranged at no extra charge. Client Responsibilities: Clients agree to arrive on time with the puppy, proper leash, collar/harness, and treats. Homework and continued practice are vital between sessions. While every effort will be made to help your puppy succeed, results depend on owner consistency, and no specific behavioral outcomes are guaranteed. Health & Safety: All puppies must be current on vaccinations and in good health. The trainer may refuse or pause sessions if illness or aggression poses safety concerns. Clients are responsible for informing the trainer of any behavioral or health issues prior to training. Liability: Participation in dog training involves inherent risks. The trainer is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage to persons, property, or animals during or after training. The client accepts full responsibility for their puppy’s actions at all times. Media Release (Optional): By enrolling, the client grants permission for photos or videos of the puppy to be used for training or promotional purposes unless declined in writing. Agreement: Payment and scheduling confirm that the client has read, understood, and agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
